ACU Motocross Academy Instructor and former Grand Prix MX1 rider Mark Hucklebridge took his squad of 5 young motocross stars (Sam Davis testing in Spain) for another pre season training session, visiting Arncott, Nr Bicester on Sunday 3rd February 2008.
Despite the very cold and windy conditions the squad were as enthusiastic as
ever, listening intently to their coach’s advice and enjoying the opportunity to
put it into practice on a track that offered excellent
conditions.
Topics covered throughout the day were:
· Late breaking
· Fast laps & timed training
· Trying different lines
· Making opportunities with any track time
Mark said, “There is a superb atmosphere in the ‘camp’, everyone is
extremely eager to learn and I’m thoroughly enjoying working with the group.
If everybody stays fit it should be an excellent year for the
squad.
In addition to the Academy training, 3 riders are learning to ride
new machines after moving up a class. Ben Watson is moving from 65cc to Small
Wheel 85cc whist Connor Walkley and Sam Davis move up to the Open Class. Dan
Thornhill remains in 85cc BW Class, David Games and Josh Waterman are riding in
the Open Class again.
The final ACU Motocross Academy Training session
before the season starts will be in the school half term week at Tony Moto Park,
near Winchester on Tuesday 19th February 2008.
