James Dabill is the 2010 ACU British Solo Trials Champion. The Gas Gas UK rider tied-up the title with a round still to go, having won all seven rounds of the series held to date to amass an unassailable points lead.

Seeing Red

This week’s T+MX bike test is the Gas Gas EC250/300 two-stroke enduro models. Yes, the latest 250Fs (four-strokes) may well be the models that other manufacturers are pushing but the hugely enthusiastic Catalan company Gas Gas is enjoying a resurgence of interest in its strokers, as indeed are other manufacturers who have stuck with the ring-dingers.

You could see that Anderson meant business as soon as he was out for practice as he set the fastest time on his sixth lap, by almost three quarters of a second from Gert Krestinov, with the ever popular Gordon Crockard third fastest. Martin Bar was fastest MX2 rider with Neville Bradshaw second.

Manx still has pulling power

Entries for this weekend’s Manx National Two Day Trial were slower than usual arriving this year, but despite the recession more than 270 solos and 31 sidecars will be doing battle over a testing route, starting as usual from the TT Grandstand at 8am on Saturday.

Up to ’speed in Latvia

Round six of the UEM Goldspeed European Quadcross series headed to the beautiful track of Kegums, in Latvia. Only 22 riders made their way to Kegums. Included in the line-up were four British riders, Paul Holmes, James Hellewell, Liam Cater and Tom Grant.
