2009 Gas Gas Raga is pure black gold!
Published: 02nd July 2009 THE Gas Gas Raga Replica is the closest thing to a factory bike that you will find in a showroom. That’s a fact. The unique black and gold 2009 Raga has everything as standard that you could hope for on a trick trials bike. When you rock up at your trial and unload the Raga you sure won’t confuse it with anything else. What other machine offers features like magnesium crankcases, a titanium and carbon fibre exhaust as standard, trick machined cylinder head, the list goes on and on – just read the accompanying spec on these pages! And it’s available in all the Gas Gas engine sizes – 125/ 250/ 280 and 300. T+MX usually tests the mighty 300 Raga but for 2009 we’ve opted for the sweet 250 because as tester WOODY HOLE says – “It’s as much as you’ll ever want...” -

The Latvian spirit...
Published: 02nd July 2009 IT was rough and tumble at the demanding Kegums track in Latvia on Sunday, but in the end Toni Cairoli and Marvin Musquin each strengthened their 2009 world title ambitions as they increased their points leads to 57 and 49 points respectively; the Italian won his fourth GP of the year, whilst the Frenchman scored the same points as MX2 GP winner Rui Goncalves. The depleted UK squad again took more than their fair share of the knocks as Tom Church scored twice despite having his hand cut to ribbons, Jake Nicholls put his back out, Bryan MacKenzie recorded his finest-ever result on painkillers, Zach Osborne had to withdraw on Saturday, whilst a burnt out clutch cost Jason Dougan a second top ten finish. In the end only Mel Pocock started and failed to score after a sensational 14th qualifier finish, but Matiss Karrto was the darling of the home crowd at this first-ever Latvian MX1/MX2 GP. Rowland is going on 30
Published: 02nd July 2009 BELIEVE it or not the National Dave Rowland Trophy Trial enters its 30th year commemorating the name of one of the most skilled trials riders of the 1960s. Dave was instantly recognisable, his factory backed BSA, his tattered beret, with goggles locking it on his head, his remarkable skills, and quiet persona... Yes, the Chapel en le Frith trials rider was one that many will recall easily. -
