He’s alright Jack

He’s alright Jack

FRESH from his ISDE Gold medal victory, Paul Edmondson cracked on with running the final round of the Putoline Fast Eddy XC Championship at the weekend at Ashby-de-la-Zouch.

There had been quite a break between round six and this final outing but all riders who were in with a chance of a championship place were in attendance and the quality of the field was superb.

The venue proved popular last season with the GBXC series running a round of the championship and earlier this season for the second round of the Putoline XC Championship there, but this event took on a few new stretches of land to provide a slightly different course with more than a few technical woodland sections, combined with fast, open fields and ditches.

Ashby is usually a nightmare in the wet and rain in the lead-up to the event had many riders thinking the venue would be a bog, but surprisingly it wasn’t! The track was in perfect condition as the Youth race began the day, a little slippery to start with but very grippy after the opening few laps.
