Kawasaki Superbike Racing Team rider David Knight won both days of the Mid Wales TRA-organised Dyfi Enduro, which comprised round three of the 2009 British Enduro Championship and with the announcement of the cancellation of the fourth round of the series, the Rhayader Enduro that was set to take place later this month, 'Knighter' has wrapped up the title having won four of the five days held so far.

Making his second appearance in the BEC aboard his KSRT Kawasaki, Knight produced two dominant performances at the Dyfi Enduro to comfortably finish at the top of the results on both days. With the opening day's competition made extremely challenging due to heavy rain, Knight was one of six riders who remained on time and without penalties as well as dominating each of the three timed special tests.

With clear skies replacing rain on day two David was again the rider to beat and just as he had on day one topped each of the three timed special tests to claim a sizeable winning margin. Improving his pace on each lap David made several small changes to the set up of his bike during the second day, all of which enabled him to improve his special test times.

David Knight: "Despite the bad weather on day one it was a great event, with a really good special test. It's a shame for the organisers that the weather spoiled things a bit, but I had a great time on both days. Claiming the British title was a little unexpected but obviously it's always nice to win. I'm still planning to compete in the last round of the series though. The great thing for me was that the test had a bit of everything, which is exactly what I need to get the bike set up well for world championship racing. The first day went well on each of the special tests. I was riding within myself and still able to pull good time on the other riders. Day two also went really well, so all in all I'm really pleased with everything."

Stuart Bland (Enduro Team Co-ordinator):  "We are really happy with David's outstanding form in difficult conditions. The Kawasaki KX450 is proving to be the ideal tool for the job with minimal changes required for Enduro. David's new chief mechanic Leo Cordinley has been working with the electronics experts from the road racing team and we have been able to give David the power characteristics he wants with no mechanical changes, the Kawasaki programmable system has taken the motocross bike to another level of adaptability. He is really looking forward to the upcoming world rounds and I believe with the team built around David he will be in an excellent position to fight for the win in Greece."

Ross Burridge (KMUK, Team Green Co-ordinator): "The partnership between Kawasaki and David Knight could not have got off to a better start. To achieve so much so soon in terms of results, and to dominate the British Enduro Championship on a virtually stock bike, is truly impressive."
