Phillips - the New kid on the block

ANYONE in attendance at the opening round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship at Donington Park recently or the MMX Championship curtain raiser a week previous,

or simply if you read about the events in T+MX News the following Friday, will have not failed to notice the appearance of a new name well inside the top-ten of the MX1 class in both series; Michael Phillips. Indeed, such were the performances of the previously unheard of Phillips at both events that it sent many, T+MX included, searching through their programmes to find more information on the mystery rider. Subsequent probing discovered the impressive Phillips to be the latest in a long and illustrious line of New Zealand natives making the long trek across the globe to follow a motocross dream in europe. Riding for the Nigel Arnold Robinsons KTM team, and based with Nigel himself, T+MX tracked down the 22-year-old native of Rotorua on the North island to find out more about his racing background and his aspirations for his time in Europe...
