Calvert rises to the Challenge!
Published: 07th May 2008 The going was quite tough for riders on day one. Clerk of the course, Alex Smith, and his merry men, had plotted a course going the opposite direction to many previous years. Late spring snow falls had ensured that the moors were much wetter than usual and the long haul over the Meall na Cruaidhe path was more energy sapping than at former events. Uncharacteristically of the Pre-65 Scottish was a massive log-jam queue at Camas na Muic on the south shore of Loch Leven – a point noted for next year by the organisers. -

Published: 07th May 2008 THE 2008 Scottish Six Days Trial got off to a fantastic start with brilliant sunshine gracing the Highlands for the opening day’s 58-mile run – and the day ended with a three-way tie for the lead! Dougie Lampkin posted his intention to stamp his authority on the event in his eagerly anticipated return ride with a cool, confident clean sheet through the day’s 30 sections – but keeping Dougie honest were a pair of Sam’s, in the form of Ludgate and Haslam! -

Published: 07th May 2008 DOMINATION was the order of the day at Lyng on Sunday as respective championship leaders Billy MacKenzie and Stephen Sword blitzed the opposition to record resounding double wins at the sandy, demanding Norfolk circuit, venue for round four of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship. -

Published: 07th May 2008 AFTER more than a few ups and downs, Yamaha’s Chad Reed did what he should have done much earlier in the season and finally claimed the 2008 AMA Supercross championship, his second, after claiming a resounding victory at the series showdown in sin city, Las Vegas, on Saturday night. -

Published: 07th May 2008 THE weigh-in on Sunday for the 2008 Scottish Six Days Trial was a day of two halves. Nice and dry in the morning and then wet and ’orrible for the afternoon parade! Some things never change. -
