The Jotagas made its competition debut in the hands of Jordi Tarres’ nephew Pol Tarres at the recent Marseilles Indoor trial. 
 
Jordi, seven times World Trials Champ and well respected in the trials world is the man behind the Jotagas. 
 
Despite being primarily a classic show there was no shortage of admirers at Telford. 
 
The Jotagas is a fairly conventional trials design with a five speed, reed-valve, two-stroke motor similar in basic design to that employed by Gas Gas and Sherco, sitting in an aluminium chassis with inbuilt fuel tank, similar to a Beta. 
 
Having ‘borrowed’ successful design from  existing machines the rear suspension is where the Jotagas veers from 
convention and although of standard rising rate principal, the linkage is actually placed high-up on the right side of the machine. 
 
This borrows from mountain bike practise and offers several practical advantages including freeing up space for the exhaust and airbox in the centre of the chassis.
 
The first production batch is expected shortly and not surprisingly – with men of the calibre of Tarres and Saunders involved – there has been a lot of interest shown by would-be purchasers.
