All team riders won Gold medals with Paul Edmondson picking up an amazing 18th career Gold on his 125 KTM.
The ACU GB ISDE Junior team stood proudly on the ISDE podium today having safely secured a brilliant second position in the World Junior competition. The World Trophy team finished the week with some spirited racing in today’s motocross races to secure 8th place. Danny McCanney finished the week top Brit in 20th place overall. Tom Sagar was Britains fastest rider on the final day.
ACU GB ISDE Team Manager, Dusty Martin: “Quite a nervy day for a team manager is day six. After a week of fighting for every second in the tests and making sure everyone keeps going day to day, there’s a real sense jeopardy about the final motocross – one small slip can see five days’ hard work scuppered.
"There were literally thousand of spectators watching today as well – all adding to the atmosphere.
“Thankfully our lads really shone yet again. Jack Rowland was in terrific form and got the British supports really worked up chasing former AMA motocross champion Mike Brown in his race. Oddly enough we best-placed 6th in each of the E1, E2 and E3 races with Jack, Tom Sagar and Danny McCanney.
"Tom was our fastest today by a fair margin – saving his best ‘til last. Danny did exceptionally well to take his 6th given a big crash he had on the tarmac section. And of course huge congratulations to Paul Edmondson on securing a record 18th ISDE gold medal.
“Best of all, though, every one of our riders finished with a gold medal, for which they needed to have each finished within 10% of the top finisher of their class. I think that shows just how competitive our teams were, both Junior and Trophy.
"Those gold medals also reflect the first class service the riders got from our extended team of supporters, be they our trusted team of volunteers or the riders’ family and friends – everyone came together to make for a very coordinated and professional level of organisation.
To everyone on the team – well done, we’ve had an exceptional year.”
