Dommett dropped his only mark in the fourth section, Smith put a foot wrong in the same hazard and he lost another in the eighth. Guy Clothier from Wales retained a clean sheet in the Modern class as did Twin-shock contenders Mark Syokes and Bob Norris on the main route and Stuart Keedwell on the Alternative course.

John Cull looked confident of completing the Pre Unit class feet up as he proceeded to clean the first seven subs, but the next caught the event organiser for one.
