KTM D3-Racing has agreed terms once again to support Tom Sagar in the BEC and WEC. A three-year Factory contract has been signed by Tom and he moves up to the Factory Farioli team and will ride a 250 EXC-F in class E1.

PAUL Edmondson and Steve Ireland, the men behind the GBXC series, have come up with a brand new race series in ‘mid England’ aimed at bringing Motocross and Enduro together with a four-round championship run on Saturdays from May through to July.

DUST replaced mud at round three of the World Enduro Championship and the wet and gloomy conditions of Portugal were quickly forgotten as two days of warm and dry weather welcomed riders to Spain. In complete contrast to Portugal a week earlier, the Spanish round, at Sitges, was one of the dustiest races for many years. The motocross test was transformed into little more than ruts and dusty berms after just one lap. Finns Mika Ahola and Samuli Aro claimed the top spots in Enduro 1 and Enduro 3 classes respectively on both days while Johnny Aubert did the same in Enduro 2 – his closest championship rival, Juha Salminen, failed to finish day one. In the Enduro Junior class Italian Thomas Oldrati claimed his first ever double podium.

AT the beginning of 2008, Midwest MCC promised to introduce new venues for its Hewitt National Cross-Country Championship. So keeping to its word, virgin land at Ston Easton in Somerset was selected for round two of the current series, although typically the unpredictable British weather did its very best to ruin proceedings.

DIRTBIKE Traxs ran its eagerly awaited Husqvarna-sponsored Dirtzberg Extreme Hare Scramble and Power Trial, assisted by trials star Graham Jarvis, at the weekend. The track was set out in the fantastic Nord Vue quarry with its deep gorges, dunes of crushed stone, steep hills, and the adjoining fellside which included the difficult ‘Bear Bank’.

A co-production between Paul Edmondson and Steve Ireland, two of Britain’s most recognised XC promoters, the whole thing had all the hallmarks of a quality event, which attracted a top-notch entry.

ARNAUD Demeester on a 450cc Yamaha won for the seventh time the biggest race in the world, the 2008 Le Touquet beach enduro, last Sunday.
