The Sherco rider Albert Cabestany came very close to victory in the third round of the Spanish Trials Championship. This round was held under a brilliant sun near the locality of Madrid in the Cabanillas mountain range.

This trial was not characterized by extremely difficult sections, this caused the riders to ride very carefully and maintain their concentration, a slight mistake would move them down in the overall standings, and this proved to be the case as the scores of the leaders were very close. Albert finished in second place both laps which placed him in a tie with Jeroni Fajardo. Jeroni had more zero's which moved Albert into third place overall; they were both within 2 points of the winner. This result did however move the Sherco rider up one position; he is now in fourth place, in the overall classification.

Albert Cabestany: "The weeks of rest without races have been very useful, as I have been able to reflect and solve some small problems that I was having. I am very pleased, not so much with the result that I obtained - that is good and more so, in that I was only two points from victory – but more importantly, I have proven that I am riding well and ready to resume the competition for the World Championship next week”.
