2018 International Dirt Bike Show preview

By Team TMX on 31st Oct 18

Motocross

Its time to focus on the autumn seasons real thriller and thats the Motul International Dirt Bike Show in association with MXGP.

Held across four full days at its traditional home of Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire, the 2018 edition of Europes biggest off-road show promises to deliver way more dirt-bike goodness than ever before.

With three halls packed out with bikes, clothing, safety gear, performance products and much, much more and then the live action areas which include Minibike Supercross racing, international Motoball matches, trial bike displays, a Wall of Death show and the Bolddog FMX team wholl be throwing down their biggest and baddest tricks theres plenty to keep your interest for a day or four.

If you havent already seen the 2019 models up close and personal, then the Dirt Bike Show is your chance to get acquainted with most of the major manufacturers having their new machines present in one form or another.

And as well as the stock machines, theres gonna be a great mix of GP race bikes, too, thanks to a new partnership between the show and MXGP of Great Britain promoter Steve Dixon.

As part of the deal, state-of-the-art team trucks from both Wilvo Yamaha and Bike It Dixon Kawasaki Factory MXGP Teams will be in attendance at the show and visitors will get the chance to meet the riders, see the MXGP race bikes and speak to the mechanics who will be putting on workshop demonstrations throughout the show and answering questions from visitors.

The UKs leading aftermarket importers and distributors will be going all-out to influence you into trying their wares in 2018 and beyond with many even bringing in leading brand ambassadors and industry experts to ensure that no questions go unanswered! If theres an aftermarket product or part worth having then itll be at the Dirt Bike Show and if its not then its maybe not so hot!

If youve seen it and then need it in your life then the chances are that youll be able to buy one or more from the many traders wholl be present at the show and ready to do business.

2018 DBS Guide

Bring your best bartering skills as there are plenty of bargains to be had which is why its not uncommon to see showgoers leaving under a mountain of helmet and boot boxes, with three new tyres over each arm and full carrier bags in each hand to balance them out.

TMXs fictional seventies cartoon character Thrasher Gunge (ask your granddad) once claimed to earn enough to buy a new Cotton (ask your granddad) by offering gents laden in such a fashion a vehicle key out pocket service for three and six a time (ask your granddad).

If balancing tyres on your arms is your bag, be sure to check out the Michelin Tyre Challenge on the stage where DBS host with the most, Steve Plater, will be hosting a plethora of competitions, challenges, awards ceremonies and Q+A sessions over the four days.

Hes gonna be a busy man thats for sure as the AMCA, BSMA, ORMS UK, Minibike Championship, Acerbis Nationals and Judd KTM British Youth Nationals will all be dishing out serious amounts of silverware over the course of the weekend.

Well also be tracking down as many recipients of 2018 TMX Awards, in association with Bridgestone as we can over the weekend but will be doing it in much more of a guerrilla way.

Back to the stage for a mo and thats where youll be able to take part in the TMX/DBR Xbox Challenge with the thumb-jockey who sets the fastest lap in our MXGP challenge winning an Xbox

One console, MXGP game, exclusive TMX/DBR directors chair and a Motul prize package plus the plaudits of every serious gamer there.

Over in Hall 2 on Stand A03a since youre interested well have mega show-only deals on subscriptions, magazines, subscriptions, newspapers, subscriptions, hats, subscriptions, calendars, subscriptions (and did we mention subscriptions?) and much more plus weve got plenty of stuff to giveaway should the mood take us.

There will also be a competition or two for you to enter and the opportunity to ask our editorial team anything you like should you find them there. And if Sutty and the gang arent helping out, Sarah and the girls Sarah, Sophie and Stuart on the TMX/DBR stand then you can no doubt find them taking advantage of one of the Dirt Bike Shows many fine eateries while washing it all down with a Coke Zero because every calorie counts.

Theres something at the show to suit most tastes and the ultra fussy amongst you will be glad to know that the Stoneleigh complex also has plenty of fine dining experiences provided youre not too hung up on the fine part of fine dining.

So to reiterate new bikes, new gear, old bikes, sporting legends, clothing, safety stuff, international motoball, FMX, minibike supercross, killer subscription deals, race transporters, have-a-go stuff, the Wall of Death and a dozen or so more dirt-bike related delights all happening this weekend at the Motul International Dirt Bike Show 2018.

Its at Stoneleigh Park. Well see you there
