As he promised before the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship began, Max Anstie is continuing his USA career and the wait to see him at the gate is over.

The British rider has secured a limited-time deal with Fire Power Honda Racing, which former pro rider Martin Davalos manages. The contract will see Anstie compete at the next three rounds of the series: RedBud, Southwick and Spring Creek.

Anstie has been working with the Honda team for the last month, and they now feel he is ready to take their CRF450R to the line at this weekend's RedBud.

The former GP rider left Twisted Tea Suzuki for Rocky Mountain KTM, but injury and team folding meant extended time away from racing.

"Being competitive is always my priority and I know that Fire Power Honda can give me what I need to chase my goals in the USA," said Anstie.

"The first month with the team has been great and I cannot wait to get behind the gate at RedBud. It will be a great opportunity to show just how much work we have done."

Anstie is one of the obvious options for Team GB for the coming Motocross of Nations, which will be held at RedBud on September 25, and the 29-year-old an MXoN class winner and medalist is keen for selection this term.

"Max was on our radar from the very start his success in Europe speaks for itself," said Davalos. "Winning his class at the Motocross of Nations speaks to his talent and potential. Providing a platform for him to succeed in the United States is our priority now. We are entering the next three rounds of Pro Motocross with realistic goals, yet we know that he has already got the speed to be comfortably inside of the top ten."

The team are expected to make additional signings for 2023 in the coming weeks.

As for Anstie's future, he teased: "[After this] the real work starts. I'm excited to have a fresh new start at Supercross, new bike, new class (or old), new races. All this to be announced later but you get the idea."
