RHL Activities announced this week that they have secured the 2021 rights to promote the ACU British Motocross Championship from the Auto Cycle Union.

Under the new structure, the ACU will remain heavily involved with the rules and regulations of the FIM sanctioned motocross series in the UK while RHL becomes the commercial partner.

"This year will always be remembered for Covid-19 and during the last few months, there hasnt been many lights at the end of the tunnel or much to cheer about," said Roy Humphrey, Chairman of the ACU. "In these dark times of necessary increased restrictions being put in place by the UK Government, a new dawn on the British Motocross Championship approaches as the ACU appoint RHL Activities as the Promoter of the Series.

"RHL and Gareth are synonymous with Motocross, the quality and presentation of their events are excellent, and we look forward to working with them for the benefit of the British Motocross Championship."

Steve McCauley, ACU Motocross Chairman commented on the partnership with RHL Activities: "2020 has been a year that both myself and my Committee will not be sorry to put behind us for reasons which are self-explanatory.

"Whilst we are fully aware that the world has not yet seen the end of the Covid restrictions we look forward to a brighter 2021. We really felt it was time to shake the series up with a major re-vamp, believe me when I say this isn't just the committee passing the reins to a promoter. We will retain what has always been the backbone of our series with our superb traditional clubs whilst adding exciting new dimensions to spice everything up. Personally, I feel with RHLs professional approach and the enthusiasm of the ACU our series will be the pinnacle of UK motocross."

After many years of unsuccessful attempts to add the promotional rights for the adult British championship to the youth series that RHL's Gareth Hockey has overseen, the RHL Activities director has finally secured his dream. "We are ecstatic to be given the rights to promote the adult ACU British Motocross Championship. As many of you know this is something I have wanted for some time and pleased to be able to work with the ACU and the clubs whom run the events to increase the promotion of the premier motocross series for our country."
