Have you ever been so excited about something that you can't stop talking about it? Of course you have! Well, that's how we feel about the 2012 British MXGP.

It's only a few weeks away but like waiting for Christmas, it'll probably feel like forever, but come August 16th the British Motocross Grand Prix weekend will kick-off - are you as excited about it as we are?

Crowds are expected to be big and the enthusiastic British fans will be able to see many of the best riders in the World competing against each other at Matterley Basin, Winchester. Riders such as MX1 Desalle, Cairoli, Pourcel, Paulin, De Dycker and Strijbos will all be fighting it out for top honours.

Plus in MX2 is the epic battle that has unfolded between Jeffery Herlings and British Bulldog Tommy Searle the pair have crossed paths on several occasions this season and no doubt Tommy will be on fighting form in front of his home British crowd and giving them something to cheer about. Adding to this excitement will be van Horebeek, Roelants, Tixier and British stars Jake Nicholls and Max Anstie.

The full Monster Energy Bike-it Yamaha team will be out in force at Matterley with Shaun Simpson in the MX1 class. Mel Pocock currently leads the EMX-250 Championship by 26 points and will be looking for another strong result in front of his home crowd. James Dunn is currently placed in fourth position in the Championship standings in the EMX-125 series and will be hoping to further his placing. Fan favourites Arnaud Tonus and Zach Osborne will be looking for some positives results at the Winchester track.

Race Promoter Steve Dixon from SD events commented "We're really looking forward to the British Grand Prix this year. It has been a lot of hard work once again but we're hoping it will all be worthwhile; the track is fantastic and great from a spectator's point of view as you can see so much of the circuit. Plans have gone really well and we're keeping our fingers crossed for good weather and hope the loyal MX fans and some new race fans across the country will make the trip to Matterley Basin in August and support our sport. It's set to be a great and action packed weekend with full entertainment throughout."

And to top it all off, Team TMX/DBR will be there in full force. We'll have some special edition Tommy Searle t-shirts available, special subscription offers to save you a big pile of cash. Plus, a chance to win some great gear - including a pair of Gaerne React boots and an Airoh Runner Spartan helmet - all courtesy of the great people at Malcolm Rathmell Sports. Just shoot over to our photo booth to enter this amazing competition. Oh, and you might just get your picture in TMX/DBR!
