Corrie's streets ahead

AFTER a week of horrendous weather Wilden Lane, with a few nip and tuck adjustments to the track, delivered another top drawer day of racing for round two of the Moto Goo championship.

The Junior 65cc section belonged to Corrie Southwood as he continued to dominate. Only Liam Knight looked as if he might be capable of mounting a worthy challenge.

At the end of the day however it was Corrie who ended up winning each race by the proverbial street. Liam took three excellent second placings, with Billy Mitchell looking confident in third place overall.

In the combined Big and Small-wheel 85cc races Richie Worrall and the Hutchinson boys (Daniel and James) fought out a battle royal at the front of the pack.

Having said that there was a little interruption from an audacious Scott Aldridge who for the opening five laps of race one produced a fantastic turn of speed and skill to run with the bigger guys and looked very much at home in their company.

Ritchie took the opening race win as James Hutchinson just failed in a last lap do or die effort to overhaul Dan as the chequers beckoned.
