Max Anstie handed out a resounding defeat to Jeffrey Herlings in the first moto of the Dutch Masters meeting at Harfsen on Sunday but a second moto DNF kept the Brit off the overall podium.

Herlings took the overall and the series lead after twice defeating Mexico podium man Gautier Paulin in the sand. First round winner Max Nagl was absent as he tries to recover from the exertion of intercontinental travel which has affected his GP results so far this year.

Shaun Simpson raced to a solid fifth in the opening moto but withdrew from race two with a sticking throttle.

A last lap pass on HSF team-mate Calvin Vlaanderen clinched the MX2 overall for Brian Bogers after Husky's Thomas Olsen had led them home in race one. Mexico winner Thomas Covington was 40 seconds back each time in fourth but well ahead of the locals.

Christopher Mills again performed impressively against the sand experts in the 125s to take fifth overall from 4-8 motos as IceOne prodigy Mikkel Haarup again dominated both motos.
