Honda looks ahead to 2009, the company's 50th year in racing. FAENZA (ITALY), 28 March 2009 Just at the end of the first day of the 2009 World Motocross Championship Honda presented its plans and teams for the forthcoming season. The Japanese manufacturer's lineup is made of the Martin Honda Team (Kevin Strijbos and Marc de Reuver) and CAS (Cedric Melotte and Billy Mackenzie).

TheItaly based Martin Honda squad will be aiming at top results in MX1 with Marc deReuver and Kevin Strijbos. The former won two Grand Prix's last year, his firstseason with the team, as Strijbos just entered. Though the Belgian lookscomfortable already  as he showed in several pre seasonraces.

Honda'spresence in MX1 is completed by other factory team CAS having British star BillyMackenzie, at his second season with CAS, and new entry Cedric Melotte, whosurely brings valuable experience in the team.

Bothteams will be equipped with the 2009 factory CRF 450 R, a completely new bikehaving a solid potential which the CAS and Martin Honda riders will displaythroughout the 2009.

Thisyear will mark Honda's 50th anniversary in racing where the companystarted to get involved in 1959. For this reason all Honda's 2009 clothes willbe branded with a commemorative logo.

Honda'sresponsible for the bikes' development Mr. Taichi Honda, a former Japaneseracer, also attended the presentation alongside Honda Europe's Carlo Fiorani andRoger Harvey.
