According to a press release from British motocross team, Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee, Jeffrey Herlings will team up with the outfit to help with his recovery as he prepares for a return to MXGP.

The team says Herlings will make guest appearances with Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee in selected events prior to competing in any 2019 MXGPs.

The surprise move has been made possible by Milwaukee who is now co-sponsors of both Roger Magees team and Herlings.

Herlings, who is currently crocked from a busted foot after a training crash in January, said: "I am super-pumped to become associated with such a major brand as Milwaukee and look forward to continuing with my rehabilitation from injury so that I can get back on the circuits just as soon as possible."

Robert Vos of Milwaukee said: "We are really pleased to announce today in Valkenswaard our collaboration with Jeffrey Herlings as part of our long term strategy with the sport of motocross.

"This relationship enhances our commitment to Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee motocross team and we look forward to our long term partnership developing over the years to come."

Roger Magee of Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee stated: "We have assisted with the negotiations between Milwaukee and Jeffrey over the past few months so that the fastest motocrosser in the World is now part of the Milwaukee family with their increasing investment in Motocross. We look forward to Jeffrey joining our Team at selected events to fully represent KTM and all of the sponsors."

Although Herlings is no stranger to the British motocross championship, racing to three Maxxis moto victories in 2015 at Hawkstone Park, we are a little sceptical on this announcement...you know, considering the date!
