John Meara will step in as cover for injured Carlton Husband with the #6 set for an extended period of recovery.

Meara will be aboard the KX250 at this weekend's MX Nationals round at Lyng as the 28-year-old from Loughbrickland, Northern Ireland joins his brother Jason at Phoenix Even Strokes Kawasaki.

"There is a really good vibe under the awning this year so its great to be able to add Jasons brother for this weekend's Michelin MX Nationals event," team owner Barry Moore said.

"John is someone Ive know for years, so I know it will be a great fit. Hes a quick 250cc rider so he will go well on the KX250 and were delighted to welcome him into the team. We also wish Carlton well with his recovery from injury and we are looking forward to getting him back under the awning in the near future.

Husband had surgery yesterday and will start his recovery by having time in the gym and other rehab work. It's not known if this is a one-race fill-in by John, but it's clear that Husband will be out for over a month.
