A marshal suffered serious injury at the Weymouth Beach Race in Dorest after being landed on by a competitors bike.

The marshal received treatment by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Southampton hospital by air ambulance.

Eyewitness reports say a number of bikes had got stuck during Expert practice and the marshal stepped in to help.

After a safety briefing, racing was resumed at around 3pm.

Todd Kellett won the Expert class after battling with team-mate Milko Potisek.

A full race report will follow later.

There is no official update on the condition of the marshal but everyone at Dirt Bike Rider and TMX sends their best wishes.
