MXGP Isak Gifting

Hitachi KTM fuelled by Milwaukee have been dealt an injury blow ahead of the MXGP of Indonesia with Isak Gifting sidelined due to knee trouble.

Gifting has been withdrawn for the flyaway trip to Indonesia, which will be held at a new circuit on the island of Sumbawa. The talented Swede, who holds the British MX2 red plate, sustained a knee injury while leading moto two at Blaxhall in the British championship. Despite the issue, Gifting went on to win the race to secure an overall victory.

The team says he will undergo further examinations in the coming days which will determine the remainder of the current season, "while also keeping an eye on next year".

"It is a shame to be in Indonesia without Isak, especially after such a strong ride last weekend, but we want to make sure that the correct action is taken with his knee injury, whilst also keeping an eye on next year and what will be his second season with the team," team manager Bryan Connolly said. "We will keep everyone updated in the coming weeks."

The next round of the Revo ACU British Motocross Championship fuelled by Gulf Race Fuels is on July 9-10 at FatCat.
