The Scottish Motocross Nationals will be running to a new format this season under the MCF.

The organising committee has been listening to riders and teams and for 2017 will run all classes over a two-day format with qualifying and two races on day one followed by two races on day two.

The series will cater for all youth classes Autos through to Rookies with Vets, MX1 and MX2 classes for adults. MX2 will be for up to 150cc two-stroke and 250cc four-stoke machines with MX1 an open capacity class.

The top 30 riders from each of the MX1 and MX2 classes will qualify through to the main races with the remainder combining in a support class.

The 2017 series will be staged over five rounds, kicking off at Tain on March 25-26 before dropping down to Duns in the Borders for round two on April 22-23. Round three takes place at the Rhynie circuit on May 27-28 before a trip to Elgin for round four on July 1-2. The series signs off at Fife Moto Parc on September 9-10.

Entries for all rounds will be available through the MCF website and, although the committee encourages all riders to take out an annual MCF Licence that comes with Personal Accident Insurance, one-event licences will be available at 10 per event.

Each round will be timed on the Mylaps system and a limited number of transponders will be available at a hire cost of 10.
