Our battle with coronavirus

British off-road motorcycle sport has been put on hold to help limit the spread of Covid-19 and all the major licensing bodies have announced a blanket ban inline with government guidelines. The AMCA, BSMA and MCFederation have initially culled sporting activities up until the middle of April, with the ACU stating nothing will run until May, at least.

The SACU have gone a little bit further and therell be no activity north of the border until June at the very earliest while the MRA have perhaps been the most realistic and said that sport is on hold indefinitely. Ultimately this blows a huge hole into the sporting calendar with all events including key ones like the SSDT and all national championships affected along with their global counterparts.

As frustrating as the situation is, it has to be considered the right thing to do at a time when the number of cases and deaths are spiralling quicker than they can be accurately reported on and the British Government is advising people to work at home where possible, avoid travelling unnecessarily and to give pubs, clubs and restaurants a complete swerve.

In these testing times, the TMX/DBR team would like to promise you that well endeavour to serve up the best in trusted, engaging and more importantly relevant content throughout the crisis by producing the best possible off-road reading material both in print and online.

Obviously, the lull in sporting action will affect what content were able to offer up but rest assured that well keep on sniffing out all the latest news and gossip while working on producing more in-depth interviews and features plus raiding our imagery archives that span six decades of trials, motocross and enduro action to give you an occasional nostalgia blast nall.
