Roczen victorious in German Championship

Teka Suzuki Europe World MX2's Ken Roczen ended four consecutive weeks of racing by comfortably winning the fourth round of eight in the 2010 German ADAC MX Masters championship at Prisannewitz at the weekend. The venue near the city of Rostock saw the team make their competitive debut at the hard-pack track and Roczen went 1-1 in spite of temperatures touching almost 40 degrees.
The 16 year old suffered a crash in the first exchanges of the opening moto and embarked on a superb charge on his RM-Z250 from outside the top 20 to seize the lead entering the final two laps. In the second race he fronted the pack by the fourth circulation and pulled away without hindrance to take the chequered flag by 15 seconds.
Winner of the German round of the FIM Women's World Championship, Larissa Papenmeier, again acquitted herself with aplomb in male company and qualified for the Youngster Cup class on her RM-Z250; the second time she has achieved such a feat. Arnaud Tonus elected not to contest the meeting and wanted a break after successive Grand Prix events in Germany, Latvia and Sweden.
"This was the first time we had race at Prisannewitz. It was a well-organised meeting and pretty hard for the riders because of the hot weather," said Team Manager Thomas Ramsbacher. "Ken rode well and was almost three seconds a lap quicker than anyone else at one point. He was pushing and it was good to watch. Larissa also qualified again for the youngster cup and that was another important moment for her. Next weekend we will have a small break before starting to think about Lommel."
Roczen now leads the competition by 10 points over Filipe Neugebauer. Teka Suzuki Europe World MX2 will enter round five of their national series at Tensfeld in two weeks before rounds 11 and 12 of the FIM World Championship at Lommel (Belgium) and Loket (Czech Republic) on August 1st and 8th respectively.
