GRAHAM Jarvis pulled-off a sensational ride on Sunday to give Sherco their first ever four-stroke British Trials Championship victory when he beat off the concentrated two-stroke attack at the opening round of the Colin Appleyard-supported British series at Kinlochleven, on Sunday.

Graham, the defending champ, used all of hisconsiderable experience to tease and tweak the barking Sherco roundthree laps of 12 tough sections, set on the banks of Loch Leven in theScottish Highlands, for three single-figure scores, 6-4-6, a remarkablefeat. Runner-up Shaun Morris, flying the Gas Gas flag, was the onlyother rider to log a single-figure lap score with an excellent four onhis final circuit. Michael Brown overcame the worst possible start, losing fives in the first two sections, to storm back to take the finalpodium placing on the TTT Beta, ahead of a fading Steve Colley afterthe Manx vet had made a bright start to the day.

Conditions were incredibly dry for the time ofyear and Arthur MacDonald and his team had to work hard to find theright degree of difficulty on the big, rock, sections without makingthem dangerous. With so much grip available he did a great job in thecircumstances.

It wasn't just about the Championship chasersthough, there was plenty of interest right down the entry with localace Gary Mac showing good form and fitness leading up to the ScottishSix Days, while young guns Alexz Wigg, Sam Haslam and Lee Sampson wereall giving it their very best in their first adult Championship round, having cast aside their 125s and were letting-rip on their big uns!All three struggled at times but equally all had their moments andthere's no doubt that all three will be heading up the leader-board tochallenge the establishment.' Alexz and Sam simply carried-on theircareer-long battle and enjoyed riding round together.

All 12 sections were variations on the big rocksset in what is normally pretty boggy ground on the steep lochside.Conditions stayed fairly consistent with the second lap possibly beinga bit harder as wheels bit down and carried some mud onto the rocks butthis had mainly dried out again for the final circuit.
