FOLLOWING the highly successful launch of the Yamaha Monster Motocross Team for the 2008 season, Yamaha will be releasing a very limited number of 2009 specification YZ450F Yamaha Motocross Team Replica machines for sale to privateer motocross riders. During 2008, the Yamaha Monster Team has proved to be the most competitive outfit and, on Sunday, September 14, David Philippaerts won the World MX1 Championship in his first season on the factory YZ450FM.
Despite an early season injury, Josh Coppins secured a strong fifth place overall in the series, making it a memorable season for the team.
As well as being the leading force in MX1, the Yamaha Monster Team can also claim to have the hottest looking bikes on the track. Their classy black livery always stands out amongst the chasing pack and gives the factory bikes a unique and stylish image.
In response to immense interest from fans and riders, Yamaha will offer the official YZ450F Yamaha Motocross Team Replica as part of its 2009 off-road model line-up.
Developed in co-operation with Yamaha Racing and the Yamaha Monster Team, the exclusive new Team Replica is based on the 2009 production bike. A limited supply of just 100 units of this new machine will be built solely for the European market – nine of which are destined for the UK – and they will be equipped with a range of special chassis parts that are the same as those fitted to Yamaha's MX1 factory racing bikes.
With its special black-coloured bodywork and trick carbon fibre components, this new addition to the Yamaha YZ line-up has a truly exclusive look and a class-leading specification.
The full list of exclusive chassis parts featured on the YZ450F Yamaha Motocross Team Replica is as follows:
* Black factory racing replica bodywork – fuel tank/ air scoops, side panels, front and rear mudguards and Yamaha Monster Motocross Team sticker set
* Hand guards with aluminium mountings
* Carbon fibre front brake disc protector
* Factory racing type black seat
* Factory racing type handlebar grips
* Carbon fibre front fork protectors
* Carbon fibre chain guard
* Carbon fibre under frame protector
With its special black factory racer-type bodywork, as well as a range of lightweight carbon fibre parts and other exclusive features, the ultra-trick looking YZ450F Yamaha Motocross Team Replica is aimed at the rider who wants the ultimate production MX1 machine.
In addition, the nine UK buyers will also receive a David Philippaerts race shirt. They will also get a pre-paid entry in the Master Class of an new, exclusive to Yamaha owners, series of three to five events which will be staged across Europe where riders can get training and coaching from the likes of Philippaerts and Coppins.
