The eighth round of the 2012 Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, featured the series' lone trip to the Pacific Northwest, with captivating competition across the 450, 250, and WMX Classes.
In the 450 Class, Red Bull KTM's Ryan Dungey was forced to withstand the challenge of MotoConcepts Suzuki's Mike Alessi, watching his 10-moto winning streak come to an end, but still emerging victorious for his sixth consecutive win of the season and his fifth straight victory at the scenic Washougal facility.
In the 250 Class, GEICO Honda's Justin Barcia capitalised on a win in the opening moto to outlast his teammate Eli Tomac and Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's Blake Baggett, the division points leader, for his second win of 2012.
The WMX Class was an opportunity for Team Honda Muscle Milk's Ashley Fiolek to continue her climb back into the championship, securing her third win of the summer with a 1-1 moto effort and gaining valuable points on the points leader Jessica Patterson, who suffered some misfortune in the final moto aboard her Rockstar Energy Racing Suzuki.
