Ken Roczen's reaction to Anaheim 1 result

After finishing a solid sixth place at the AMA Supercross season-opener in Anaheim, Ken Roczen has taken to social media to offer his thanks to his fans and give some insight on his weekend at the office.
While a sixth-place finish is something the German can build upon, he will surely have been hoping for better after taking the top step of the podium on three previous occasions.
However, he never really threaten the leaders at A1, with his good friend and 450SX rookie Adam Cianciarulo running out front for a number of laps taking second place at the chequers.
Throughout 2019 Roczen referenced his then mystery illness as a constant obstacle to the results he expected from himself. After A1 the 25-year-old did not mention his health, putting the blame squarely on his preference of bike setup.
Bike setup is something that can be worked on so that's hopefully great news for K-Roc and Team Honda HRC.
Here's what Roczen had to say on social media: "First off thank you for the support to my fans, friends, family and my team!
"From previous experience I have set my bike up very stiff for safety reasons. I have realized that even before going to Anaheim 1 that it May be on the stiff side. At the same time I didnt want to flip everything upside down and keep messing around with anything just before the season starts.
"Ultimately I wanted to get to the races and then go from there. The tracks get really rough in the main and having a too stiff of a bike doesnt help the whole situation and conditions. I felt like I was riding a BMX bike.
"No excuse though! Not pointing fingers or anything. We all know I can be and should be up at the front. The first race is down, I got the speed and I have put in my work over the off-season no doubt. This week is about taking everything a step down and come to St Louis happy and motivated!"
What's next for Roczen?
The Monster Energy Supercross series heads to St. Louis for round two this coming weekend. It's a return to Missouri after not having the venue on the calendar last year.
