Trials

The Westmorland clubs Nostalgia Bultaco Revival Trial takes place this Saturday (June 16) and has created a real stir as the big name to attend this year is none other than 1980 World Trials Champ Bernie Schreiber!

This will be the American legends first ride on British soil in over 30 years and he will be competing on a Bultaco provided by fellow World Champion Yrjo Vesterinen.

Vesty will of course be riding as well, as will daughter Hannah.

Last year over 40 Bultos were in action and it is hoped to beat that total this year. Another rider coaxed out of retirement is former British Champ John Reynolds who rode a Bultaco in the early 1980s.

And Guest of Honour is none other than Sid Lampkin, Bultaco works rider, who still has a few of the Spanish machines kicking about!

Other riders signed-up include John Lampkin, who will be Fantic mounted, and Glen Scholey on an immaculate Honda.

The trial is sponsored once again by the Coniston Brewing Co, famous for Bluebird Bitter, and the venue is Middleton, near Sedbergh and you can follow the signs from J37 off the M6.

Start time is 10am and a magic day is in prospect.
