Trials KIA Twin-shock

The 2018 KIA National Twinshock Championship has kicked-off with cracking rounds in north Wales and County Durham so far and this Sunday sees the action move east to Lincolnshire for the third round.

Scunthorpe MCC is in charge of this one with Mark Kremin and co setting out the two laps of 20 sections at Ledgerwood Country Park, Walcot, Alkborough, Lincs, DN15 9JT. An entry approaching three figures is expected with the usual four classes, Historic Twinshock/ Pre-78 Twinshock, Open Twinshock, Britshock and Air-cooled Mono all well represented.

The usual Expert and Clubman courses allow riders to take it as seriously or as lightly as they like! Both Gerry Minshall and Alan Wright, joint instigators of the series along with Peter Salt, are entered in the Britshock on 250 James and 185 Bantam respectively.

Three-times World Champion Yrjo Vesterinen is really enjoying himself on his sweet-running Bantam while the experienced SWM Twinshock mounted Roman Kyrnyckyj enjoys a local round for him.

Mr Rockshocks Gary Fleckney makes the trip, as does Cumbrian Robin Oliphant who has been winning on his rescued Suzuki RL. Ossy Byers and Butch Robson were instrumental in the last round at Castleside and can relax and enjoy this one, while Ian Peberdy will have a run out on the Triumph twin that he heads to the Scottish Pre-65 with.

Former British and World Womens contender Donna Fox will have a local run out on her Bantam and is joined by current contender Jess Bown who swaps her Scorpa for a TY Yam mono along with boyfriend Chris Alford.

With the Man 17 clubs round sadly cancelled in May this is the last KIA round until June when Spen Valley take the series back to Tong in Yorkshire which proved popular last year.
