Trials S3 Parts

The nine-round 2018 ACU S3 Parts Championship gets under way on Sunday, February 25, when the North Berks MCC kick in with their always popular Wallace Cup Trial.

Venue will, as ever, be The Horse and Harrow public house at West Hagbourne, Oxon, OX11 0NB.

The S3 Parts series comprises nine traditional National events with one road-based lap and between 35 to 50 separate sections in various groups. Its run under no-stop observation rules with appropriate sections.

The Wallace will comprise 15 to 20 miles in the Oxfordshire countryside and there will be S3 Parts and Clubman sections. The trial will include North Berks very own Seymours Arena.

But Clerk of the Course Stu Robinson is quick to reassure riders that they wont be as used in the SuperTrial and that he will be looking after the Clubman entry as it is certain to comprise the largest class.

The Wallace has an entry limit of 120 and theres no real reason why it shouldnt reach this. The upcoming Vic Brittain Trial has a full house 120 and while it is a Midlands centre trial as opposed to a National, the Wallace Clubman class should be a similar experience.

Check out the North Berks club website or the ACU website as you can download your entry forms. Event secretary is Claire Maynard Robinson who can be reached on 01235-816644/ 07816-930914 if you have any queries.

There is actually no stopping (no pun intended!) the series, once started, as the first four rounds take place on consecutive weekends with the Westmorland MC hosting the second round on Sunday, March 4, with their Milnthorpe Cup staged in and around the Lythe Valley, near Kendal, in Cumbria.

This is followed by the Stratford clubs well-known Colmore Cup and on March 18 by the Hillsborough MCs equally popular Jack Wood trial. The Jack Wood will be unique in boasting a mighty 50 separate sections.

But all that is in the (near) future. First things first get those entries in for the Wallace Cup.
