SSDT Tuesday – Doug on top after two days

By John Dickinson on 3rd May 17

Scottish Six Days Trial

Dougie Lampkin on the factory Vertigo went clean through 30 sections for the second day running to put himself into a clear lead having shared the top spot with four other riders at the end of Mondays opening day.

In fact the only other rider to remain feet up on Tuesday veteran Catalan Jordi Pascuet (Gas Gas) who, revelling in the unexpected sunny and warm conditions, moved into second overall having dropped just one mark on Monday. Fellow Gas Gas rider, British teenager Jack Price dropped just three to take third place.

And yet another Gas Gas holds fourth in the standings as first-timer Tom Minta sits one mark ahead of Jack Sheppard (Beta) and local ace Gary Macdonald (Scorpa) both dropping four marks after remaining unpenalised on the opening day.

Minta has extended his lead in the Newcomers to 17 marks over Jack Spencer (Beta) as Jack Peace dropped 17 to add to his superb five-mark effort on Monday on the 125 Gas Gas.

Gary Macdonald has stretched his advantage and he looks a shoo-in to retain his Best Scottish rider trophy while Emma Bristow - 35th overall - dominates the Female class. Hardly surprising that overall leader Dougie Lampkin heads the Over 40 class!
