Trials

Its a busy weekend for some, as following the opening ACU Trial GB British Championship round at Hookwood in Surrey on Saturday, Sunday sees National trials action in the Peak District when the North Derbyshire Youth MCC stage their long-established Bemrose Trial.

And it remains as popular as ever with the 160 entries living proof of this. The Bemrose is a good old-fashioned single-lap event of 39 sections, set in different groups around a road-based course starting at Haslin Farm, close to High Edge Raceway near Buxton, SK17 0RR.

Most of the groups are well known to National trials run in the area including Kid Tor, Etches, Booth Edge, Manor Steps, Hawks Nest, Robinsons and the final hazards at Danebower.

Last years Bemrose winner Dan Thorpe is back to defend his title but he will be up against strong northern opposition like Richard Sadler, Luke Walker, Richard Timperley and Chris Alford with Tom Moss upholding southern honour. Its not all about the Bemrose challengers, though, with multiple classes including Inters, Novices, Over 40s and Over 50s.

And the girls are represented by Jess Bown, Katie Sunter and Hannah Styles with Styler being last person to leave the start. The Bemrose will kick-off at a bracing 9am, first man away being Scott Rowland and competitors will have seven hours to complete the course which ought to be plenty.
