Trial World Championship

With the 2019 FIM X-Trial Indoor season now done and dusted after last weekends final round in Andorra, the worlds elite now start training for the upcoming outdoor FIM TrialGP series.

Repsol Honda star Toni Bou had already tied up his 13th X-Trial title before racing in Andorra in front of his adopted home crowd while TRRS kingpin Adam Raga was also assured of second place.

Fittingly they finished in that order leaving Jeroni Fajardo to beat his young Gas Gas team-mate Jaime Busto for third place assuring the Old Guard filled the 2019 podium.

But, onwards and upwards and Registrations are open now on the FIM TrialGP website for all Trial World Championship classes and the series opens in Italy on the weekend of May 25/26 with TrialGP, Trial2 and Trial 125.

The Women open their account in Japan with a three-day event from June 7-9 at TwinRing Motegi when Britains Emma Bristow will begin her title defence on the factory Sherco. Emma was the first British girl to win the World Championship back in 2014 and is now gunning for her sixth consecutive title against ever stronger opposition.

James Dabill starts 2019 as Britains No.1 and the Beta factory rider is looking to improve on last seasons seventh place, a position which didnt reflect his true ability. James will get plenty of bike time in next week as he goes in search of a third Scottish Six Days Trial victory.

And after losing out on the 2018 Trial2 title in contentious circumstances at the final round Cornwalls Toby Martyn looks to put the record straight, Toby having switched from Montesa to factory Beta power over the winter.

TMX is concentrating on The Scottish for the next two weeks, after which well bring you a full World Trial Championship preview.
