The calendar for next year’s FIM X-Trial World Championship has been finalised comprising eight rounds, seven of which will be in Europe along with a flyaway event in Costa Rica.
The championship opens with X-Trial Budapest in Hungary on January 20 and concludes in Andorra La Vella on April 27. The big news is that X-Trial will leave Europe for the first time in over a decade with the seventh round taking place in Costa Rica.
As the series continues to grow, six new destinations are on the calendar for 2019 including a first-ever visit to Moscow, a return to the principality of Andorra, Marseille and Granada as well as the addition of a date in Bilbao. The FIM X-Trial of Nations remains in France but moves to Vendée, the scene of the opening round of this year’s solo indoor championship.
Sport7, promoter of the FIM Trial World Championship, has also released its provisional calendar for next year’s outdoor series.
Starting on May 25-26 with TrialGP Italy at Pietramurata Di Dro, the championship will also be contested over eight rounds with seven in Europe along with a flyaway event in Japan.
