Club Reports

The first instalment of the Dredgers MX season was held on the beautiful Welsh hillside of Meidrim near Carmarthen.

For 2016 DLMX are affiliated with the BSMA, and we were pleased to welcome Don Church from the BSMA to oversee the first meeting.

In the Open group Joe Jackson was in a class of his own with three firsts, and he was up there as one

of the fastest solo riders.

Phil Coid was second. Phil thought that he had won the first two races until someone told him that Joe Jackson was in front of him by about half a lap! Phil Jones had a good third overall.

Matthew Garratt had a dream day in the AMX class by winning the last race to tie on points with club favourite Josh Phillips.

Shane Dalley had a brilliant third overall and shows how his winter training have paid off!

The Adult Novices had a very good turnout, but the first three appear to be in the wrong class! That said Calvert Jones and Joe Buckle both rode well to secure their fourth and fifth places.

The Quad Expert class was once again spectacular with the action to be seen nothing short of incredible.

Simon Hammersley was the fastest of all solos and Quads, lapping seconds a lap faster than anything else! A joy to watch.

Luke James could not catch the Hammersley brothers even when he was jumping start gates! Luke Cooper put in a solid performance on his KTM to finish third place.

In the Quad Clubman group Ben Golding had a great day to have first overall in only his second season of racing.

Mathew Parry had second overall and must be the best quad rider to pull a wheelie.

Mark Moseley was unlucky breaking a chain in the first race. Callum Carter's last moto win gave him a good third overall.

In the Youth classes, Iestyn Rees took a comfortable first overall in the 250 quad youth, while Adam Lomas had a good second with Jack Evans in third.

Miss Mari Humfryes had a very good fourth. Unfortunately Daniel Jones had mechanical problems.

The Big-wheel class saw some tight racing between Rocky Piggott, Iwan Randall Evans and local boy Keelan Perry.

Piggot took the overall with Evans and Perry runners-up.

Sam Richards rode well all day to take home his fourth place championship points.

In the Small-wheel class all three riders rode well with Morgan Walters and Jack Davies battling for wins.

And in the Minibike classes, Brendon James was the man to beat in the Autos, while and Jayden Reynolds and Logan Evans were both very quick and dominated 65 cc group.
