THE Italian Beta factory has just weighed-in with a very testy special version of their increasingly popular REV3 four-stroke - there were 24 four-poppers circulating happily at the recent Scottish Six Days - which is sure to be a hit with those looking for something a little different and with increased performance. This model is the designated Rev-3 300cc 2008 model RACING version and British importer John Lampkin tells us that initial deliveries will be available in just two to three weeks time. This info has already gone out to John's Beta dealers and he tells us that firm orders have already begun to roll in.
The 300cc Racing model has been developed by the factory's Donato Miglio and Spanish rider Jordi Pasquet. In fact, the final prototype version was ridden by Pascuet in this year's Scottish Six Days Trial where it performed faultlessly all week.
The production Racing model is a direct copy of Pascuet's factory bike and the specification includes:
300cc cylinder capacity.
Titanium valves.
Camshaft which improves power at high RPM.
Racing CDI.
Lighter rear exhaust (Aluminium) which also increases performance.
Carbon headlight, front disc cover.
Racing footrests.
Racing sticker kit.
Retail price has been set at 5395 inc VAT.
