Girls National is go

AFTER many years of providing female riders with a brilliant weekend's racing, the Girls National Motocross returns once again in 2007, with this year's big event going off on Saturday, September 8, at a new venue for the championship, Foxholes near Salisbury in Wiltshire.

One hundred and eighty-two riders attended lastyear's hugely successful event at Culham Park with the British lassesbeing accompanied by ladies from Belgium, France, Holland, SouthAfrica, Iceland and even Russia, and it is hoped that more ladies willattend this years meeting to tip the entry to over the 200 rider mark.

The event will again be supported by PortsmouthMXC and the BSMA,with many of their own riders competing, and whileunfortunately the traditional Girls National venue of Culham isunavailable for the years event, Foxholes has been kindly offered-upfor the prestigious meeting and will provide a fitting venue. The eventwill go back to its original one-day meeting status too for this year.

The event is again open to all female riders ofany ability from Auto up to Adult 125/250F, as well as the Open Classintroduced in 2006 returning, and trophies will be awarded to all thosewho compete.

All those who attended last years event willautomatically be sent regs but any new ladies wishing to ride caneither contact event organiser Carol Wingar on 01489-782760 or downloadthe entry form from the official Girls National websitewww.ukgirlsnational.co.uk Race fees will be announced on the websiteshortly along with Regs which need to be returned to Carol by Monday,August 20, at the very latest.

Also, anyone wishing to sponsor a racing group canalso contact Carol on the number above as without sponsorship the eventcannot run. Donations of prizes for the raffle would also beappreciated.
