Ladies...meet the boys!

The fourth round of the ACU Ladies & Girls plus the C and D class Youth Trials Championships take place as they head into Shropshire this Whitsuntide weekend.

A total of 28 youngsters start on Saturday morning with a probable three laps of a dozen sections. Clerk of Course Gordon Lawley marked very varied sections last year with the stream banks and bed forming the backdrop plus some tree rooted climbs which that certainly tested. The Class E boys and girls will have their own group of sections. Class C standard wheels will be a cliffhanger with Sam Yeomans likely to topple Jack Peace who will have West Country ace Toby Martyn and hot Yorkie Sam Johnson right on his back.

Billy Green and Joe Faunthorpe should hold their own in classes C and D Medium wheels category. Ulster Union youngster Reece Gazzard has burst onto the 2011 Youth scene along with Matlock's Sam Land in Class D Small Wheels so Saturday will be a cliffhanger in all classes.

No less state of affairs prevails in the Ladies championship with Becky Cook hanging-in just three championship points ahead of Emma Bristow with chef Donna Fox cooking-up a shock if either should wobble. All Hannah Style wants is a podium after a trio of fourth places. Danielle Whitham is back from playing national footie and the way she tackled the Ripon trial on Sunday indicates good form - so will Chloe Richardson get near the Silsden girl?

Nikita Smith stands on a maximum in Class B but Simone Wallis heads for Shropshire with intent along with Kate Hunter and Hannah Richardson. Bristol cousins Maisie and Victoria Payne will be a threat as well. Beth Waite should take Class C but NIamh Richardson and Gabby Whitham will be close. The unknown quantities are Megan Savage and Rosie Rowett.

Harriet Shore lost out at Lincoln but the 18 year-old Reading student will be ready for 17 year-old Caz Alford on Sunday. Only three points separate the girls.

Start time on both days will be 10.31am.
