THE Cumbria Twin-shock cliub has been busy up at the popular Bassenthwaite track getting it ready for this years racing season which kicks-off on the May 25/ 26 Bank Holiday weekend with its big open centre meeting. Added to the track over the winter months have been a new jump and a new spectator area were you can see the whole track, as well as an underground track crossing. The concrete start-pad has also been modified so there will be more grip and the whole track was graded after the last event in so it is in tip top condition.
The Bank Holiday meeting will be open to classes for A, B, C, and Twin-shock, and the Twin-shock class will also constitute the first leg of the 'Inter Centre Team Event' which will consist of teams from Cumbria, Lancashire, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire. The next leg will be at Polesworth before the last leg returns to Bassenthwaite in August.
Also the club will be having the Workers race, a scratch 250cc race and a Vets race on both days so there will be something for everyone. The beer tent will be open all weekend and there is camping available so don't miss this one. The following week, Wednesday June 4, the club also starts the first of the popular 365.com evening motocross events. These will be run over four rounds on Wednesday nights across the summer; June 4, June 11, July 2, and July 9, and if the last years events anything to go by these are going from strength to strength.
Ring Darren Hudson on 01229-463805 or 07774-894534 for more information on both events.
