Hard Enduro Graham Jarvis WESS Erzberg Rodeo

British extreme enduro specialist Graham Jarvis is going for his fifth Erzbergrodeo Red Bull Hare Scramble win this weekend.

The 44-year-old Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider will take on the fearsome Iron Giant in Austria as the event the biggest extreme race on the calendar celebrates its 25th birthday.

"Im feeling a bit nervous," he said. "Its the biggest race of the year and is up another level compared to everything else. Ive got a few niggling injuries I did my ribs a little bit back before Lagares but still got a steady result which was not too bad for my age!

"Theres so much that can happen especially at the start so its all got to go right on the day."

Organiser Karl Katoch is planning an extended course for the events silver jubilee and has promised that this years race will be bigger and better than ever.

"We are currently planning on a new and extended race track for the Red Bull Hare Scramble which will overshadow everything weve done so far," he said.

"We are reacting [to] the constantly rising skill level of extreme enduro and can implement new visitor areas for the fans, making the intense action even more tangible. The Erzbergrodeo XX5 will become an unforgettable experience for all competitors and visitors."

This year the organising team will be paying extra attention to the needs of spectators with bigger viewing areas and an enhanced shuttle bus service to transport fans around the huge quarry.

"The Erzbergrodeo XX5 will not only be a true highlight for the competitors," said head of organisation Mark Schilling.

"In addition to the spectacular side events held in the Interwetten Action Arena, all-new shuttle bus routes and extended visitor areas will offer a highly impressive experience.

"Fans will be able to see the intense racing action up close."

All the action will be streamed live on Red Bull TV.
