The British ISDE World Trophy and Junior Trophy teams had to withdraw from the 2021 competition but it looks like that will be put right for ISDE 2022.

Team GB's ISDE manager, Daryl Bolter has offered an update this week on the problems of last year and what the plans are for this term.

"I want to start by saying I was as disappointed as you probably were that we did not get a trophy and junior team to Italy, a lot of time and effort went into planning and prep but with covid already making things difficult and then circumstances at the very last minute meaning I didnt have a full team, the decision was made," said Bolter.

"On a positive, Id like to remind you that a Womens team did go with Jane Daniels, Rosie Rowett and Nieve Holmes and what a result they had! It wasnt the easiest of ISDEs but yet they still put in a solid ride and were rewarded with another podium, so congratulations again ladies!"

On To 2022

"Plans have already started for France, draft budgets are being drawn up, meetings have taken place, phone calls are being made, I am 100 per cent up for making this happen, I have full backing from the ACU and unless France falls off the face of the earth, we will be there representing Team GB with Trophy, Junior and Womens Trophy teams," he added.

"Its been a difficult couple of years due to the pandemic but its enabled us to learn and recognise what needs to be further improved, its not all going to occur overnight but were ready to implement changes towards the ISDE. One of the exciting changes I want to do is introduce a national club team a team designed towards the younger riders, more details to follow on that soon!

"I believe we have some of the best riders in the world, both men and women so we must do our best to get them to our Olympics of motorcycling the ISDE to showcase their talents for Great Britain. 1953 was the last time we stood on the top step of the podium and I absolutely want to change that, all 3 teams have every chance of standing on that podium.

"Again, we will be fundraising and we have some plans already for some events to take place in the not-too-distant future, more details to follow on that too!

"I would love to hear from you if you would like to get behind Team GB in 2022 that could be as a team sponsor if you want to help fundraise or as a set of helping hands. In the coming weeks I will provide further updates so please share this message so everyone is aware and we go forward as one team."
