Enduro

The Tough One has gone, memories of the UK's most well known and revered extreme enduro are left to Nantmawr Quarry last February, Graham Jarvis and David Knight having an amazing battle with Jarvis taking the title.

A new era for that special event is here in the form of the TOUGH 100, See what WOR have done there? One - 100, A continuation of the famous name but a brand new Extreme Enduro for the riders and spectators to look forward to with a new format and new venue confirmed for early summer this year.

Running over two days the event will have a Qualifier on day one followed by the big event on day two, catering for lots of classes and skill levels this will be an event not to miss.

The Format:

Rail The Trail, The Qualifier:

An evening time qualifier on day one will see the riders take on a "normal" 2.5 hour Hare Scrambles, covering a flowing and fun 5 mile lap, The riders overall finishing score will determine their start line position for Sundays main race. The need for some speed here will ensure a great start for the main race. The Qualifier will run from 7pm till 9.30pm on the Saturday Evening finishing in the dusk.

TOUGH 100, The Main Race:

Starting at 10am Sharp on the Sunday Morning, the riders will line up in groups of 15 as per their score from the qualifier, They will then tackle 100 miles of testing, challenging, demanding yet achievable and enjoyable terrain with a 5 hour time allowance over a 10 mile lap. Following on from WOR's successful Sucker Punch extreme enduro format, riders in all classes get a fantastic chance to complete and finish the event irrespective of the fastest riders times. 10 laps = Gold, 9 laps = Silver, 8 laps = Bronze with 7 laps being required to be deemed a finisher.

The Venue:

Tyn Twyll or Berwyn Leisure Park, However you may know it, is a long standing venue of WOR and its beautifully situated location in North Wales, Not far from Wrexham, will be a perfect home for this special new event. Working very closely with the land owners,

The organising team will deliver a course like no other before at this venue,  that will follow a trail of natural terrain made up of monster mountain climbs and down hills, bracken strewn off cambers, technical twisty woodlands, fast and flowing linking sections and much more.

Think a mini version of the Romainiacs. A UK miniature version and a small taste of the Carpathian Mountains set right here on the tops of this stunning venue.

It will offer a true extreme enduro experience for all skill levels to enjoy. The lap is sensibly planned to be safely marshalled and sustainable in its entirety.

The Media:

WOR will once again guarantee quality pre and post event media with TV already confirmed, Web coverage and video clips and of course the national motorcycle press will all be running features and reports on the event.

A £2000 prize fund awaits the winner and Sponsors / Bibs / confirmed star riders etc  will be announced in the very near future.
