A Knight to remember

MANXMEN David Knight and Steve Colley were the big winners at this year's WOR Events Tough One' held at Nantmawr Quarry, Oswestry, where Knighter claimed an emphatic third consecutive Pro class win while Colley became the first ever winner of the newly introduced Speed Trials' event.
With a revised format, two Scandinavian seven-time World Enduro Champions in attendance and the cream of Britain's top off-road racers all competing the 2007 running of the ‘Tough One' was always going to be an exciting event. And despite a torrential hailstorm less than 30-minutes into the main event, it proved to be every bit as entertaining – and tough – as forecast.
Right from the start of the main ‘Tough One' race, the drama began as the riders set off on a 300-metre Le Mans-style run to their bike before getting under way properly and Gas Gas rider Wayne Braybrook and KTM's David Knight hit the front early on.
With Braybrook determined to push Knight every step of the way, the pair edged ahead of the Pro class, swapping the lead several times during the opening laps.
But just when it looked like it was going to be a two-horse race for the win, Knighter upped his pace and as he has on so many occasions before, set about opening up a commanding lead. One that would ultimately see him claim his third consecutive event win.
