At a recent ACU Motocross Committee meeting held at ACU House in Rugby, a discussion was held regarding the age limits of the 85cc Big Wheel class for the 2020 season and beyond.

The result of the meeting will see the upper age limit of the Big Wheel 85cc class reduced to 14 years on January 1 for all ACU permitted Motocross events.

This rule change brings the ACU in line with the FIM and FIM Europe and will see a more natural progression through the class from the 85cc Big Wheel to the 125cc and then Youth Open class.

From January 1, 2020, the new age limit in the ACU Handbook will read:

85cc Big Wheel 11 -14 Years on the 1st January

The ages limits for the Small Wheel 85cc class will remain the same, as will the 125cc class where riders can enter at 13 years old and the Youth Open class at the age of 14 years old.
