AMA Pro Motocross Ken Roczen RedBud

Ken Roczen mysteriously slowed during the first 450 moto at RedBud on Saturday finishing the race in sixth place.

He later revealed he was blowing chunks and had to let it out.

Roczen could perhaps be forgiven if he hadn't been at the start gate for the second moto but he was determined to fight and fight he did leading the second race before taking the flag in third place for a fifth overall.

Today, the 25-year-old German released a statement to his fans that offers a little more detail on his condition. "RedBud was a better weekend than the last couple," he said. "Sixth and third in the motos. I threw up in the first one with about five min to go so I had to slow down and let it all out and then finish it.

"I obviously havent been 100 per cent. It is the same thing that I struggled with earlier in the year. I have to manage the week on a very low load so I can at least come to the weekend and give everything I have.

"My plan is to never leave anything on the table. That is what is important to me.

"I am waiting for further test results that will give us a clear answer. It is VERY frustrating. I am mentally ready to do whatever it takes to win. My body is not allowing me to do so though. Something isnt right.

"Anyway, the crowd this weekend was epic as always. The support is very appreciated. Thank You."

On a personal level, it's been a sad weekend for Ken losing his much-loved Rocky. "RIP Rocky. I'm glad you are thru the struggle and happily in a better place. He was my old English Bulldog that I got here in the US in 2011. Rest easy bud."
