PIONEER Yamaha's Brad Anderson notched up two more wins at a fast and furious round two of the CCM British MMX Championships at Whiteway Barton, Devon, at the weekend as he made it clear to all his challengers that he is the man they must beat if they want his British Four-stroke title.

Meanwhile, in the PAR Homes backed Under 21championship, Ray Rowson and his Molson Kawasaki suffer their firstdefeat of the year in a particularly exciting finish to race two, whereRelentless Suzuki's Jamie Law crossed the line just over a second inthe lead.

Also at this event was the first round of theBritish Quad championship where, with a win and a second place, theon-form Dutchman Joe Maessen on his GYTR Yamaha took the overall whilelast year's champion, John Mitchell, and multiple champion, PaulWinrow, both suffered various troubles and finished low down in thepoints.

It was hard to imagine that just over a year and amonth ago, as rain fell continuously, race transporters were beingtowed into the West of England's hillside venue and racing was stoppedafter three races because of a waterlogged track.

This year it couldn't have been better with a drypaddock and the smell of barbecues wafting round the paddock onSaturday evening and people in tee-shirts sitting on the grass enjoyinga sociable time with their families and racing friends.

The hard packed track was in good condition asclub members had been watering the circuit since Thursday - even upthose very steep valley sides - and a measure of dust just started tomake an appearance as racing was concluding.
