Rob Hooper Racing have announced the signing of evergreen Scottish racer Tony Craig for the remainder of 2019.

With injuries ruling out Ryan Houghton for the remainder of the season and Taylor Hammal out for another four weeks or more, the team will be represented by Craig at the remaining Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship and Michelin MX Nationals rounds.

The Scottish veteran has been a long-time favourite of team boss Rob Hooper. "I admire how Tony goes about his business," he said. "He works hard all week and goes racing at the weekend. There is no pretension with him at all and I am full of admiration for his commitment to the sport, plus he is a very good rider. I am sure we can get some good results."

Tony Craig: "I would like to thank Rob Hooper for giving me the chance to come into the team for the rest of the season.

"I can't wait to get racing on the Yamaha. After only a few rides on the bike, I have already fallen in love with it. I'd also like to thank all my sponsors for being okay with me taking this opportunity with the RHR team."

Craig makes his team debut this Sunday at the famous Foxhill venue in Wiltshire at round seven of the Maxxis.

I so wanna be one of those cool internet kids who just disses everything without experiencing anything at all but I’m just not cool enough. And adding to my geek status is this little factoid – I went to the Maxxis round at Hawkstone Park and I absolutely loved it.
